Your JETAA has been a tad busy over the past couple of months. In April, our Diners’ Club event proved to be very popular ? mostly because of the delicious sushi, rather than the not-very-funny-Japanese-comedy. About 30 people turned up to either the comedy or the sushi.

May saw us help the Consulate promote the JET Programme at the Japan Club of Victoria’s Japan Festival. In spite of being held on Mothers’ Day, over six thousand people turned up on the day, and there was quite a deal of interest in the Programme. Thanks to everyone who helped out - either by manning the desk, helping to set up/pack up and for providing photos for the photo-board.

There's a lot more planned for the coming months, including a couple of orientations (details on page 2) but most immediately is our AGM - to be held at Tokyo Gardens Restaurant (360 Latrobe St Melbourne). After official business, enjoy a Japanese banquet dinner ($22 + drinks) and for the real party-goers, follow it up with as much karaoke as you can handle. (Tokyo Gardens is a BYO restaurant.)
